Vital Info for San Diego Youth
This article tells all of San Diego where the best places are to engage in publicly viewable sexual relations.
Of course now that this article is out there, I'm thinking they might not be the best places any longer. I'm sure the fuzz will be all over this.

Even Santa needs to be entertained
It seems that even Santa needs some entertainment every now and then. Sean Bonner witnessed a whole gang of male and female Santas outside of Cheetah's Night Club in Hollywood and blogged about it on Metroblogging LA.
From Metroblogging LA:
From Metroblogging LA:
And to make the whole thing that might weirder, two people in Easter Bunny suits complete with baskets were walking up Vermont just south of Hollywood. I have no idea what the hell is going on, but I know I like it!

Tookie Gonna Die!
The Governator just handed down his ruling and there will be no clemency for "Tookie" Williams. Really, that's the way that it should be. Court after court has upheld the decision of the original jury and without there being any evidence that he didn't commit the crimes, it would be wrong for Schwarzenegger to have granted clemency. Also, any outcome other than death would undermine the validity of the work that Williams has done over the past 20 years while he has been imprisoned. It would send a message that killing people is okay, as long as you are good in prison. That is not a message that should be sent out.
Brace for riots.

Smoke Alarm
I love this little device from DuPont. Such an ingenious little thing I'm surprised that nobody came up with it sooner.

Christmas Light Geek

Some guy in Ohio set up a huge Christmas light display, complete with synchronized music. Unfortunately for him, it caused an accident in front of his house and due to the traffic gridlock his display was causing police and firefighters were unable to respond in a timely manner. As a result, officials asked that he pull the plug due to the growing public safety threat.

Photography is Not a Crime
Photography is not a crime, yet many people have been harassed, detained, and arrested for the harmless act of taking a photo.
We are not terrorists. We are not dangerous. And we are certainly not a threat. — JPG Magazine
Rhonda Fast on Urban Vancouver:
JPG Magazine has also noticed this and has put out a call for photo submissions that fit the theme "Photography is Not a Crime."

Rhonda Fast on Urban Vancouver:
When I was in highschool the slogan we plastered on t-shirts, stickers, backpacks, you name it, was Skateboarding is Not a Crime. But of course no matter how much we flaunted that we were still always getting kicked out of parking lots, undergrounds and the like.
...
I blogged awhile back about the rights of photographers when shooting in public places and since I've found that there are a ton of people outside of my immediate circle that are getting hassled left, right and center for shooting in places that we are indeed allowed to shoot in.
JPG Magazine has also noticed this and has put out a call for photo submissions that fit the theme "Photography is Not a Crime."
JPG Magazine:
In a post 9/11 age of paranoia and suspicion, public photography is increasingly seen as threatening, or mistaken as criminal. And we here at JPG are sick of it.
So we're devoting issue 5 to this important topic. The theme, "Photography is Not a Crime," is a rallying cry. It's meant to remind everyone that amateur photographers are the documentarians of real life. People with cameras bear witness to the everyday dramas of ordinary people. We capture our world to help us understand it.
We are not terrorists. We are not dangerous. And we are certainly not a threat.

DRM Music
The EFF has created a list of ways to figure out what music CDs feature DRM technology. This is seriously something I would advise checking out. Sony's latest attempt at DRM technology has resulted in security holes from here to Beijing, to put it lightly. Of course, Sony is now in court over said technology.
I'd trust a crackwhore to watch my kid before I'd trust the RIAA or any of its members to do the same. Scum anyone? (Note: This is one reason among many I don't have kids at this time.)

Juror Bush?
It seems that President Bush has been called for jury duty. Of course he won't be there and has called the courthouse for a postponement.
Two things come to mind:
1) Even if the courthouse wouldn't agree to postpone his jury service I don't think he'd be showing up. Apparently, the court wouldn't do anything about it either. "State District Judge Ralph Strother told the Waco Tribune-Herald he doesn't expect to send the sheriff out to bring the President in."
2) Do we even want Bush serving on a jury? Put aside the fact that this is Dubya, but should we really be permitting a person that already wields so much power over the government to serve on a jury? I would think that would be immediate cause for an appeal of any verdict.

Disturbing
I find it rather disturbing that the adult film industry considers some STDs to be "trendy."
From Ashley Blue on XPT:
From Ashley Blue on XPT:
The fashionable STDs to get contaminated with are:
1. staph infections
2. vaginitis
3. throat gonorrhea
4. chronic yeast infections
If you have these STDs, you are so last year.
